Supports healthy cardiovascular and cholesterol health Supplies Styrinol, plant sterols, and pomegranate. Styrinol is a combination of flavonoids derived from the peel of tangerines and tocotrienols derived from palm. The flavonoids in Styrinol have been studied with regard to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions. Specifically, with respect to cholesterol metabolism, tocotrienols have been shown to inhibit the hepatic enzyme responsible for the synthesis of cholesterol. Together, the synergistic action of the two -- the flavonoids and the tocotrienols provide powerful support for cardiovascular health.
Plant sterols are naturally occurring, plant compounds that have structures similar to, yet slightly different from cholesterol. Research has shown that these compounds compete with the absorption of dietary cholesterol in the GI tract. Therefore, supplementation with plant sterols, especially when combined with other therapies for lowering cholesterol, can significantly decrease cholesterol levels.
