30 Days of Encouragement - Day Five

Your spouse is the most valuable thing in your life after your relationship with God. Your spouse will be there when the children are grown and gone, and will love you when you are old and funny looking.

If you have been gifted with a spouse that loves you, you have been hugely blessed. Your spouse is to be cherished, encouraged and cultivated. Live your life as though this may be the last day you will get to spend with the one you love. Do something special for your spouse today and receive the blessings from the giving.

Ephesians 5:29-33 No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That's how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. And this is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become "one flesh." This is a huge mystery, and I don't pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband.
